They date either to the late 40s or early 1950s. They are made of 51 gauge 15 denier nylon, with Cuban heels. Each is stamped with Phantom Gossamer 51 Ga 15 Den C I L Nylon Yarn Made in Canada 8 1 2. C I L was Canadian Industries Limited, and was granted the Canadian license to produce Dupont nylon in 1939. In 1942,
