coming from Alta Mesa vineyard (Santa Barbara County)
this Champagne is composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay
This is pretty oaky at present though the necessary density appears to be present such that the wood treatment will eventually be successfully integrated
Here there is no reductive funk and in fact the nose is really quite pretty with its airy mix of red and dark pinot fruit that display top notes of spice and herbal tea
Boislauzon, Chateauneuf Du Pape Quet Vintage:2009 coming from Alta Mesa vineyardBased on 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvdre, the 2009 Chteauneuf Du Pape Cuvee Du Quet is showing beautifully, with a powerful, rich, yet seamless style. Ripe black cherries, black licorice, roasted garrigue, meat, tapenade, and Provenal notes all emerge from the glass. It's full bodied, has a deep, layered mid palate, sweet tannins, and a great finish. I'd say it's drinking at point today, yet it has the density, depth, and balance to evolve gracefully
